WNR 1.4401 Pipes and WNR 1.4404 Tubes, commonly known as Stainless steel 316 Pipes and Stainless Steel 316L Tubes, are the second most commonly used stainless steel grade after SS 304 and SS 304L.
ASTM A312 TP 316L Stainless Steel Pipes is basically an improved version of ASTM A312 TP 304L Stainless Steel Pipes, with addition of molybdenum and slightly higher content of nickel. However, both SS 304L and Stainless Steel 316L Pipes grades have significant commercial usage due to their good corrosion resistant properties, crevice corrosion and cost effectiveness.
Our UNS S31600 Pipes contains an addition of molybdenum that gives it improved corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride environments. Given the good forming and welding characteristics, UNS S31603 Tubes are widely used in marine, petrochemical, power generation and external architectural applications. Meanwhile, our SS 316 Pipes and SS 316L Tubes are available in both seamless and welded form in OD and NB sizes.
